Bing Adds Worthless Feature: Twitter Search
We don’t know whether to curse Microsoft or thank them, but they just made Twitter that much more usable and available to the masses. Bing, Microsoft’s new search engine, now offers a way to search tweets in real-time. Ashton Kutcher, every second, without actually being on the Twitter page. We can’t hardly stand it.
Honestly, it’s not all that exciting, it’s just taking the Twitter craze one step further offering another level of obsession and minutiae details that only fuel the fanaticism. So now, if you search Ryan Seacrest, Danny Sullivan or Al Gore (all examples given by Microsoft’s Sean Suchter when announcing the new feature) you’ll get a box with their latest tweets and a link to their Twitter page. Thrilling. Bing takes Google down a page by offering up-to-the minute tweets vs. Google’s somewhat more outdated posts. However when you’re searching you still have to type in “celebrity name twitter”. Why not just use the search feature on Twitter? We’re not certain but thanks anyway Bing.
