Netflix Headed to iPhone, Wii?

I sometimes feel like I spend half my life blogging about new Netflix partnerships. While we all know that’s a slight exaggeration, it still seems like Netflix is managing to worm its way onto every device that could even think about having a WiFi connection. But Microsoft better watch out, if the rumors are true and Netflix is planning on moving to the Wii, the Xbox could have some serious competition.

Multichannel News is reporting that their source says Netflix is planning on making the move into the Wii and onto the iPhone. If it’s true, and you haven’t jumped on the Netflix bandwagon yet, you might as well. They’re everywhere you could ever think of being, and it might be time to just bite the bullet and get unlimited TV shows and movies at your fingertips.

We’ve heard about the move to the Wii for a while. So that doesn’t come as much of a surprise, we just wonder what it will do to the Microsoft/Netflix relationship. But the iPhone could prove to be a whole other monster. We already had the problems with the Slingbox app and trying to get shows over 3G – AT&T says it’s a no go. Too many people trying to watch long TV and movie clips over the 3G network would bog it down and make it all but worthless.

We’d have a similar problem with Netflix. While having a Netflix App for the iPhone that will allow you to get your Netflix fix any time you hit up a WiFi station could be good, what’s the point in paying for unlimited internet access, if I really can’t get unlimited access to whatever I want, wherever I want?
