This past weekend Netflix proved that an addiction to the site could be a really really bad thing. For most of the day Sunday the entire Netflix site was down ... we're sure causing mass panic and riots worldwide. In all seriousness though, because of the lack of information about the downed site, some are thinking Netflix was under attack, similar to many other major government and media sites last week.

According to an article by PCMag.com, Netflix said the downed site will not affect shipment of DVDs that were already ordered. Nor would it affect the about to stream and watch instantly movies on Netflix-enabled devices.

But if you were looking to rent or check out the movie and TV collection you were out of luck this weekend. "We're sorry, the Netflix Web site is temporarily unavailable," was the message users received when they came to Netflix.com. Netflix hasn't commented on happened to cause the outage, but the site is back up and working ... for some. Don't get your heart set on watching a movie today until you check your account.
