Will the iPod Touch be an iPhone Killer?
The iPod Touch is almost the iPhone, except you can’t make phone calls. Oh, wait, you can. If you download the Skype app you can definitely make phone calls on the Touch. But the iPod Touch still isn’t quite as good as the iPhone because it doesn’t have a camera or microphone. Oh wait, now the rumors are saying that we could see an iPod Touch with both those features in two to three months. I want to know, what will be the difference between the Touch and the iPhone then?
Wired has a well-connect source saying Chinese contractors are already making the iPod Touch with both a camera and a microphone. Again, according to Wired’s source, the new devices could go on sale in two to three months. So now we’re left to ask the question: which do we buy? It seems like there will be almost negligible difference between the two devices … only the Touch doesn’t come with an annoying and suddenly far to expensive two-year contract with AT&T’s less-than-desirable service. I don’t know about you, but I’m starting to think that the Touch sounds like a lot better deal.
How ironic … if it does work out and if people catch on to the VoIP idea, Apple may be the ones that create the one and only iPhone killer.
